Halloween is a time when you should be allowed to be *anything* (well I guess there are some decency issues or you don't want kids coming as something threatening or insulting to others, but aside from that). And yeah, I also watched my friend get her nose pierced in the bathroom of our high school freshman year, so I think the piercing thing is ridiculous too. I think that is something that parents need to regulate, not schools.Stephanie Kuehnerthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15337734171729461782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38838926.post-75790173556899741522009-11-03T14:49:06.770-08:002009-11-03T14:49:06.770-08:00Good points, Erica. And in most cases, you can't get pierced until you are 18 anyway.

And I agree with the comment that adults assign all this "meaning" to it. And frankly, if a kid in school wants to embrace their inner Adam Lambert . . . go for it.

EErica Orloffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16415925758466527671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38838926.post-32289103314568332052009-11-02T13:45:57.955-08:002009-11-02T13:45:57.955-08:00I agree, Gerb. (http://twitpic.com/o18jb) At that age, I have a hard time calling kids dressing up in opposite sex type costumes as 'cross dressing.' That definition carries a sexual connotation that adults assign to it. To the kids, it's just funny.Gerbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13073463561640650913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38838926.post-3733752378470609342009-11-02T11:20:35.771-08:002009-11-02T11:20:35.771-08:00my thoughts exactly, Alysonmy thoughts exactly, AlysonWendy Toliverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14642277380582169548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38838926.post-3319855948046705882009-11-02T09:05:17.410-08:002009-11-02T09:05:17.410-08:00A little girl dressed as Peter Pan is *cross dress...A little girl dressed as Peter Pan is *cross dressing*????!!!!

Oh-kay . . .

And, what's so wrong with cross dressing anyway?Alyson Noelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13897651759587675373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38838926.post-21829878854882813362009-11-02T07:26:51.427-08:002009-11-02T07:26:51.427-08:00Anna, I love that ghost story. The next year, we were allowed to wear shorts after May 15.

One year on Halloween my sister went as a half man/ half woman.
