Im with Justice Publishing Inc. and we are happy to announce that we have a new series coming soon in stores and schools called the "Adventure of Cinnamon and Spice"!.We are partnering with E-Squared Studios Inc. to produce colorful designs for the series. I am so not a style icon. I appreciate style. I enjoy feeling well-turned-out, but I'm usually the last one to pick up on a trend or (this makes me laugh) set one.

I really love fashion. In fact, I just tweeted about a festive skirt I saw in SELF magazine and I'd love to find a less expensive version somewhere. I guess that's my thing. I don't feel right about spending lots of money on myself; I'm happy to wait until it goes on sale or shows up at T.J. Maxx or similar. on the other hand, my lifestyle (stay-at-home mom living in a small mountain town) and, to a certain degree, my height (5'9") doesn't really lend itself to fancy high heels.

Though I don't consider myself extremely picky, there are lots of foods I avoid. Any meat that I have to eat off the bone gives me the shivers. Blood sausage. Just the name of it grosses me out. Mincemeat pie and head cheese. (again with the names) Fried pork rinds. Okra. Fruit cake.

I went through a phase of watching Hell's Kitchen and Celebrity Masterchef but my favorite shows are where they have to eat disguisting things. Ray Mears and Bruce Parry are the best at that!!!

Btw, I read the funniest cookbook ever the other day called How to Cook Children - it's sort of a witches guide to gruesome receipes!!! I have a feeling the US rights were sold the other day so you'll have to look out for it!!!!

I make cold soba noodle salad--this Asian recipe with rice wine vinegar and lime and soy sauce and . . . heavenly! A vegetarian delight. And I can make them blindfolded. AND my kids like them.

Aside from that, I make a delicious eggplant parm. And aside from that, I try to stay out of the kitchen. I kind of loathe cooking. LOL!

I'm not an adventurous eater, in fact I've always been really picky.... as a child I wouldn't eat eggs, meat or veggies.... or fish....

I LOVED cheese and potatoes, and still do (though now I can only eat goats cheese)!

I'm not really a bad cook, but I live in a family of people who are really into the cooking thing, and I'm just not that into it. So, I can cook if I have to, but I usually don't. That said in high school we used to have parties in Spanish class on a regular basis. I think our teacher organized one once and we thought it was such fun that we took it upon ourselves to have them every few weeks or so. I made brownies for the first time, and ever after that I was locked into making brownies. In fact we would pass around a list where people could sign up for what we were going to bring, but by the time it got to me someone had already put me down for brownies. The funny thing is they were just brownies from a mix, and I think it was the store brand mix, at that.

I don't know that I have a cooking "thing" although I'm quite proud that I have mastered makizushi (rolled sushi) - even the inside out rolls (with the rice on the outside) - and I can flip an aebelskiver without deforming the little ball shape. Woo!
