Valley Girl trailer (1983)

It's movie week here at TFC and what better way to celebrate than with a trailer of Valley Girls. I actually posted this on my own blog a few months ago but can we ever really have enough of Nicholas Cage being all emo and hot? No, I didn't think so (though I'm having problems believing it is 25 years old now. I was obviously two when I first saw it!!!!!)

Anyway, apart from Clueless and The Princess Bride, this is one of my favorite movies of all time and I hear that they might be making a musical of it. Hilarious!!

I have yet to see this film, but I did have to sing the theme song for a production years ago.

A musical?!? LOL!
Great flick. Really captures the culture. I remember pretending to be a Valley Girl back in, like, kindergarten or something. Like, totally for sure!

I remember being annoyed when the movie came out that it portrayed Valley girls as only into pop music, vs the Hollywood kids in the film who listened to new wave (which they call punk in the film...yeah, right.) What annoyed me was that I was a Valley Girl, and everyone I knew listened to new wave... :-)

Of course, like Amanda, I was two when I was having all these opinions! ;-)

Alyson - I know. I'm not usually a musical fan (unless they have Joss Whedon involved) but for this I would make an exception!!

Little Willow - I love that song. I still listen to it all the time!!

Jessica - sneak it to the top of your list. It's worth it!

Wendy - that's awsome dude!

Melissa - I totally agree!

Cara - I grew up in Australia so I had never even heard of a valley girl until I watched this movie. Though i can assure you that I rushed straight out and bought a polo shirt and bandana and thought I was totally cool! For sure!
