Promo Week - DEATH BY DENIM

It's promo week at Teen Fiction Cafe so I'm here for some BSP!

I'd like to introduce you to DEATH BY DENIM, which will hit the shelves in May. DEATH BY DENIM picks up where DEATH BY LATTE left off, taking Aphra to France and Italy on an international adventure.

I'm happy to report that the early reviews are great. Flamingnet Book Reviews even selected it for the Top Choice award!

To celebrate, I'm offering a signed ARC DEATH BY DENIM to one lucky TFC reader. For your chance to win, leave a comment below describing your favorite French or Italian food.

This contest will remain open until Saturday, January 10.

Only one? But I love all Italian food. But I think I'm obligated to love all Italian food, being Italian and all.

But I do enjoy pasta of all sorts. More specifically, ravioli. Mmmm.

Snails obviously - hahaha - okay, I lie! I have tasted them but they didn't really do it for me. Chocolate eclairs on the other hand totally does it for me!!!!

Well, just about anything with garlic is at the top of my favorite food list which makes Italian one of my top choices. Roasted garlic and tomatoes on pizza, spaghetti sauce loaded with sauteed garlic, mmm, my taste buds are watering and it's 5 AM in the morning!

Poor French food. Clearly not the favorite so far... But all the Italian food you mention sounds delicious. Pasta rules!

my favorite italian food was what I ate in Italy last summer at a lovely little restaurant called Cafe Torino in Stresa at the Lago Maggiore. They had the best pizza's and pasta's.And I ate the most delicious Calzone, filled with tomato sauce and mozarella cheese there. And I am addicted to italian ice cream!

french food: Februari 2008 I was in Paris one day, so I had not much chance to taste the food there. I only ate one sandwich there. But let me tell you: That was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. It was at a little cafe in Le Marais, and the sandwich was called Rocket Scientist. It was big flat , very cruchy, french bread with rucola salad leaves and tomato and herbs. Nothing more. And I am also addicted to french, stick formed breads and baquettes, especially when they are warm from the oven..YUMMIEE!

Spaghetti with spicy sausages and covered with tomato sauce that has been simmering on the stove for hours, lending the house a deliciously aromatic smell that allows the aura of the meal to linger for hours more.... :)

Ya'll are making my mouth water and it's not even close to lunch time!

Marjolein, I agree with you about French breads. Super yum.

And crepes! No one has mentioned crepes. You can get them from street vendors all over Paris. With nutella and bananas. Out of this world.

There's an Italian place in town here that makes something called Shrimp ala Nick: It's jumbo shrimp covered with spinach, tons of melted mozzarella and red sauce - yum! OK, I'm hungry now and feeling just-the-idea-of-it fat. Happy Pub Day!

I'm not sure what the French word for it was but it was like snail bread... it wasn't made out of snails or anything it was just yummy croissant style pastry rolled up like a snail shell. Delicious :)

Anonymous said...

Lasagna definitely :) As long as it has tons of cheese in it/on it it's delicious!

I love pasta or any kind (almost) so I don't have a specific kind that I like!

Ooh Italian food... Hmm, I suppose it's cheating if I say "anything that Jamie Oliver makes" :-) As for French food, one time on a visit to my family in Southern France, we had the most diviiiiine almond pastry for breakfast - soft and flavourfull and gooey... I've never had it's like since, anywhere!

Pasta = love. Is fettucine alfredo Italian? If so, I'd say that thats my specific favorite.

Melissa Walker said...

I am with the pasta crowd, but for the sake of the French I'll say... I love butter and cheese. They are really into those things.

And if stranded on a desert island, I'd take a baguette and brie over most other options! Oui, oui!

Paradox said...

Ha! Pizza. Obviously.

And pasta with meatballs!

I've never eaten French Food, for Italian a little. I guess I'll go with icecream. Pasta is great too but I have a sweet tooth : D

i think i love most italian food, any kind of pasta and rucola salad. though my fav would be pizza and gelato and then an espresso afterwards? !!

Pasta is coming out the clear winner among these suggestions. I agree! At home, my DH has a pasta maker and he does homemade pasta for our dishes. Mmmm. Love it. But not too often!

my favorite Italian food is spaghetti that's actually Italian (at least according to my 'gourmet cooking' teacher and then my dad who had a restaurant :p).

I use fettucini noodles because it tells me to use some number noodles they don't sell anywhere, then green and red peppers, onions, garlic, proschuito...and salt and pepper..oh and parmessan (I think that's it). It's really good because it doesn't really have a sauce so it's lighter than spaghetti as you usually think of it and everything's all sauteed-y together (I am so horrible at describing things but good at making it!).

And now I want some!!

Mitzy said...

oooo I love crepes - they're so amazing. Nutella, strawberries, bananas, whip cream? mmmm

Italian? Probably pizza. I'll have to admit that my favorite pizza is from California Pizza Kitchen, but hey, it was derived from Italy ;-)

I love Pizza!!! Especially with cheese and pineapples! :)

Here's one for france~ Roast turkey with black truffles and chestnuts. I've only had it once, but it makes thanksgiving turkeys seem bland in comparison. It is a recipe that has been in my friend's family for practically forever, and it is delicious!
