Too much of a good thing?????

As it's movie week I decided to put out a question (or three)

Have you ever seen a movie more than once on the big screen?

If so, which one and how many times?

I'll start us off......

1. Yes (often)

2. Love Actually (is the one I've seen most)

3. Eight times!

Ok..... over to you.................

I love Love Actually and watch it every year at Christmas time. However, the movie I've seen the most is probably Princess Bride. I went three times in one week when it first came out and I still watch it on DVD every year or so.

Luckily you relegated this to "on the big screen" or else I'd be forced to go on for ages! So, that said, I'll have to say AMERICAN BEAUTY, CHICAGO, and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, ROCKY HORROR, CLOCKWORK ORANGE, . . .I'll stop there.

:-D

Amanda, it wouldn't surprise me if I've watched Love Actually over 30 times when you count dvd.

Alyson, I said 'big screen' for that very reason........ I've been known to wear out videos/dvds!!!!!

I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie four times on the big screen, but I've seen a whole bunch three.

The most recent of which -- IRON MAN!!!

Because Iron Man rules.

And because my stuffed cat really, really likes it. (He now wants an Iron Cat suit.)

I saw Titanic 3 times when it was in theaters. More recently, I went twice for Sweeney Todd - such a great movie!

On the big screen? Probably not so much. $$$$ - especially while we were in Japan (plus by the time several of the movies came to the big screen in Japan, we could already get them on DVD.)
I do watch movies over and over again on DVD. Especially highly-quotable movies whose lines have become injokes in our family, like Princess Bride, Much Ado About Nothing, Bandits, O Brother, Where Art Thou, etc.

Cara - I agree with you; Ironman RULES.

My high school job was movie theater employee. Let's just say I saw Pulp Fiction, um, maybe 12 times in the theater.

There are the two I can recall right now. I saw the Royal Tenebaums 3 times (it's my favorite movie) and Juno twice. I'm sure there are a few more.

"Rocky Horror" leads my list with *dozens* of times: and no, I'm opposed to a remake.

Hmmm . . . Big screen, not often, since it's hard with four kids to get out to the movies. But DVD? Love, Actually is probably my record holder, but there are plenty of others. Guys and Dolls with Marlon Brando--a dozen times easy. Waterloo Bridge with Vivian Leigh (less so lately since it has a sad ending). The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant--seen in 20 times, probably.

I remember seeing The Lost Boys about 8 times when I was younger but Troy beat that out at 10 times....A friend and I saw it from the beginning to the end of the run so basically the very first showing at the theatre to the very last showing before some other movie took it's place. The opening day we watched all three showings. We drag friends at various times to see it. I can't remember if we saw all three showings on the last day it was playing at our theatre but I do remember that it was kind of sad when we saw them take down the movie name in the panel next to the cinema 1 and replace it with another movie that would be playing next. I know kinda lame but still it's Homer and ancient history and ACHILLES, PATROCLUS, ODYSSEUS and ok never mind I'll stop now...Did I mention Brad Pitt? :D.

Hehe. I know there's been a few, but the one that comes to mind is Shrek 2, I saw it three times in theaters. In my defense, we were hanging out with family the whole time and it was the only movie that was appropriate for the age range.

The soundtrack was also excellent-- they incorporated some songs from FAME.
