Every year at about this time, I buy myself a new holiday CD. I particularly like Christmas music because I love the festive feeling it gives me. My collection is quite extensive: from classical piano to country to rap. One of my family's traditions is gettin' down with Ricky Martin (Ay-ay-ay It's Christmas) and I want to personally thank him for helping me lose my post-birth baby weight. Gracias, Ricky!
This year, I found a CD by Utah artist Danielle Vaughn. It's called "Noel," and it is great for listening to while driving or while typing away on my keyboard. I bought a bunch for my friends and family and had her autograph them. Cool, huh?
Does holiday music make you want to puke, or does it put you in a merry mood? Do you have a favorite holiday song or CD? If so, please share!

John Lennon, Slade, Wizard..... all UK christmas songs.....
Personally I'm not big into holiday music, but I do love listening to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. That is my holiday music. I love that ballet and used to go see it often as a kid. I need to find time to do that again!
Not to be a party pooper, but the only Holiday song I like is "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses, and I still only want to hear it once or twice during the season!
I love Mannhein Steamroller Christmas Extraordinaire, Manhattan Transfer's Christmas Album, The Moody Blues' December, all the old stuff - Bing Crosby, the Carpenters, Nutcracker Suite, etc.
Songs I can do without - Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer, Do They Know It's Christmas, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time, So this is Christmas, etc., etc. (There are a lot of obnoxious Christmas songs out there, aren't there??)
Yes, there is a lot of annoying holiday music out there, so I never hold it against ppl who can do without it entirely. "Grandma got run over..." definitely falls in that category. I'll have to check out some of your recommendations of goodies.
My husband is addicted to Christmas music. My favorite one is a CD our friends gave us by an NZ band called Twinset. It's called Christmas Pudding and is sort of retro lounge music meets jingle bells!
Oh and every year I need to listen to Christmas in New York about a zillion times because it's one of the best songs ever!!!!
Bing Crosby! Man, I could listen to the Hawaiian Christmas Carol and "I'll be home..." and "Christmas in Kilarny" all night. Sometimes I do. My Jewish boyfriend "oys" a lot while I decorate, but it makes me feel 5 years old again to hear!
It is *not* Christmas without Mannheim Steamroller. I like them because I can write while I'm listening (to the slow songs, at least).
I'm also a (cough, cough) Kenny and Dolly "Once Upon a Christmas" fan.
Can't believe I just admitted that.

You guys have some great recommedations.
It's okay, Leigh. I know someone who actually went to a Kenny concert once. :)

My mom and my aunt went to a Kenny and Dolly concert (either when I was little or just before I was born). Their claim to fame is that Dolly walked *right* by them and my aunt managed to snatch up a couple of beads that fell off her dress.
My mom played the Kenny and Dolly Christmas record as I was growing up, so when I saw it on CD a few years back I *had* to buy it. :)

Woo hoo! Dolly Beads!:)
I like a wide range of holiday music, but my favorites are all classical or gospel style. Listening to Sandi Patti sing "O Holy Night" gives me chills.
I favor Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack for Christmas songs.
PLEASE, SHARE a link to download this rare album called "Noel" of Danielle Vaughn in 320 kbps. I'm from Brazil and i can't buy it, unfortunately... :-(
Please, make my day! Put a smile on my face!!!
