Recently I asked a very random question on Facebook and Twitter. You see, I was making brownies from a box yesterday. (Had a total sweet tooth moment.) And I always get a kick out of the directions that state:
"Stir about 50 strokes with a spoon."
hahaha.
So I asked on my status: "Do people really count out the 50 stir strokes instructed on a brownie mix box?"
And mostly everyone said YES!
Yes, they actually count the strokes.
Other random answers included, yes, but it always takes more than 50 strokes, or yes, when you have OCD like me, etc.
So I need further research just to appease my curious mind because you see, I'm a random stirrer. I stir the batter and when it looks mixed, I'm happy and dump it in the pot to bake.
So that's my question TFCers!
How do you stir your brownie mix?
a) Yep, I stir and count out the 50 strokes
b) Heck no, I stir till it looks good
c) Brownies in the box!!?? I'm a bake from scratch peep all the way!
d) Um, I don't eat brownies...
e) other...

this is just what twitter is for! informal fun surveys. hmm... you know, i think i would count my stirs too! just to be sure.
I answered you on Twitter yesterday, but I'd like to reiterate that I would literally count every stroke. Might even put in a few extras just to be sure. If it still needed more mixing to be smooth after 50, I'd do more, but I'd definitely count to make sure I did at least 50.

Well being vegan, I can rarely use box stuff, but I still never count stirs and I'm a person who rarely measures spices either. I like to taste test. Esp with baked goods!

I usually start off counting then about half way through I quit counting and just stir until it looks done.
I don't cook brownies.... but if I did I would definitely count!!

I always count every stroke--if it's reached 50, I'll do a few more if needed, but I usually stop. LOL.

I'm a B all the way. The finger test is important too.
Delicious looking and delicious tasting and quite simple to make! I've never made this before. These were pure delight and I'm sure to make them again.
