17 Again

On Saturday night, I went with friends to see 17 Again. I admit, I was skeptical about the movie based on the trailer I'd seen on TV. I thought the movie would be a cliche from start to finish with stale jokes. One of my friends was convinced of the opposite--she was sure it was going to be great.

Guess who was right?

Yep. She was. :)

The movie was super funny with some excellent one-liners. Zac did a great job and so did Matthew Perry. Some of the funniest scenes in the movie came from from Mike's (Zac) best friend. The dude was hilarious and outrageous.

Anyone else see 17 Again or another movie this weekend? If so, what did you think?

I am not a fan of Zac Efron. But after reading this, I think I do wanna catch this movie! :)

I've seen both Hannah Montana & 17 Again.

I didn't like 17 Again at all: it was silly! But it did have some good one-liners.

Lauren, am I just really really stupid or did Miley not pick?! On all the trailers it said she had the best of both worlds, but now she'd have to pick one (ie Hannah or Miley).

But from the ending it didn't say what she picked!

It was all, I can't be Hannah anymore, yes you can, oh all right, let me put my wig on and start singing again.

No question answered!

I saw some girls spilling out of the theater after seeing "17 Again" and they were SCREAMING into their phones about how hot Zac is. It made me smile!

I really want to see Hannah Montana... is that weird? I love her two worlds, but now, Megan, I'm afraid I'll be dissatisfied!

I'm skeptical about the movie but your review is making me more interested... I'm too old for Zac but, I'll admit it, he's attractive! Tho, um, somehow I don't think Matthew Perry would have looked like Zac Ephron when he was a teenager! ;)

Megan, (WARNING, HANNAH MONTANA SPOILER ALERT) she's still got both worlds, only now Tennessee is on in the secret too, but they're willing to keep it for her.

It actually wasn't a bad movie, and I really enjoyed two of the songs.

I can't wait to see 17 Again because I must see all movies on switching/being young in an old body, vice versa. Freaky Friday, Big, Switch, 13 Going on 30 (my favorite!), etc...

Oh, I haven't seen a movie in a theatre since SLUMDOG, which is now out on DVD, so you know how long that's been!!

I really enjoyed 17 Again and loved seeing all the stand-up comedians in it (Thomas Lennon from Reno 911 as Mike's best friend, Margaret Cho as the sex-ed teacher, Jim Gaffigan as the basketball coach, and Nicole Sullivan as Naomi). It was a funny movie and it's one I'd be willing to watch again and maybe buy on DVD if I have the money.

We went inadvertently to a theatre (long story behind this- will post on LJ at some point this week) that had literally just opened up last week and they were giving out little sheets of paper that you could give to the concession stand to recieve a free small popcorn and small drink. It was awesome.

p.s. I saw DUPLICITY this weekend. Loved it! Fun caper film for adults in the vein of Thomas Crown Affair

17 Again is on my movie wish list to see with my kids. The girls, of course, love Zac Efron. I admit I really liked him in Hairspray, too. The last movies I saw were Monsters vs. Aliens with my son and Hannah Montana with my daughter. Do we see a running theme here???

He's a cutie, but I feel like a cougar typing those words. :)

Friday Night movie night here with a DVD a week.. No movie theaters yet with a three year old.

Love Zac Efron. So jealous of Vanessa, LOL. (: I was really impressed by his acting in this one, he really broke free of the cutesy HSM-ness and is a great actor! I admit I almost cried during the courthouse scene. I really liked it! And I sorta want to see Hannah Montana. I'm not a big fan of Miley as a normal girl, but she's not a bad actress and an OK singer. I've seen the show once or twice and it's cute!

I can't wait to see it - I'm waiting until the kids are back in school next week. I'm like Sara Z and I love anything that involves body swapping/life swapping and while I'm not a major Zac fan I love Chandler Bing (what do you mean that's not his real name???) so I just know that I'm going to love it!!!!

17 again was really cute. I enjoyed it a lot. I love movies where people either change from being younger to older or vice versa.
