The style gene passed me by!!

This week we're talking about fashion and style, and I'm going to off load and admit to everyone that I have no sense of style!!!

My mother, is obsessed with bags and shoes. My daughter.... obsessed with bags, shoes, clothes and makeup. To give you an example, she recently begged me to give her my brown boots (the only pair I possess), yet she has, to my knowledge 8 pairs of boots at least half of them varying shades of brown.

So, what happened to me???? I have a pair of shoes and wear them until they fall to pieces. Ditto with clothes. And as for make-up, I've been doing it in the same way since I was a teen (much to my daughter's annoyance). The thing is, I hate shopping and find buying new clothes a chore. I don't see the point in buying lots of different make-up when what I use suits me fine. And why would I want to put my feet through the torture of wearing heels, when flats are much more comfortable?

What about you? Are you a style icon.... or more like me?

So not like you. I LOVE getting new makeup. I look forward to the day my favorite eyeshadow runs out so I can get a new one to try. And the shoe shopping...my sister calls it "shoegasims."

I'm the same! I have no idea what's in fashion, and don't care much. I consider it a success if my clothes are clean, comfortable, and sort of match.

I really love fashion. In fact, I just tweeted about a festive skirt I saw in SELF magazine and I'd love to find a less expensive version somewhere. I guess that's my thing. I don't feel right about spending lots of money on myself; I'm happy to wait until it goes on sale or shows up at T.J. Maxx or similar. on the other hand, my lifestyle (stay-at-home mom living in a small mountain town) and, to a certain degree, my height (5'9") doesn't really lend itself to fancy high heels.

I am so not a style icon. I appreciate style. I enjoy feeling well-turned-out, but I'm usually the last one to pick up on a trend or (this makes me laugh) set one.

I do like makeup, though, even though I don't wear much. I love browsing Sephora and looking at all the pretty colors. : )

I love clothes, shoes, make-up--the works--it's all good!

Though the reality is I spend most my time in front of my computer, clad in sweats and slippers and make-up free!

I'm not a style icon my any means and not quite as into shopping as some girls, but I do love my makeup and shoes and thrift store trips. And I've honestly loved discovering my own style and honing it which I think I've been doing since I was about 12!

A little of both for me! I do love a night when I can try to impress.

And, Wendy, 5'9" is PERFECT for heels!
