did someone say tv??!

TV is a weird subject to talk about with other writers. Some--like myself--love it and others don't watch it at all.

Now, while I fully admit I can't imagine life without TV (I mean, can you imagine never ever seeing Arrested Development? Because I can't!), I also have to confess I haven't been watching much lately.

In part it's because I've been sick (which is annoying and boring) and in part because I've got a lot of deadlines, and--at the end of the day, no matter how much I love TV, work has to come first.

But! A few weeks ago, one of my blog readers, Haley, mentioned a show called Raising Hope. I checked out the first episode--and then watched all the other ones. I'm totally hooked on it, and I think it is my fave of all the new tv shows this season. (Granted, I've only seen two of them, but still!)

How about you? Do you watch TV? If you do, what shows do you consider can't miss? And are there any new shows you know you *have* to watch?

Can't miss TV: Glee and Modern Family. Modern Family is the best show going these days! I've seen the promos for Raising Hope and it looks really funny; I just keep forgetting to tape it

I watch so much, it would be a long list. New shows I'm still watching: The Event, Raising Hope, Hawaii 5-O. New favorite TV pleasure? Sherlock.

I used to be one of those anti-TV folk as a teenager, but now TV has gotten so good, I can't resist! My current favorite show is probably True Blood, though now Ihave to wait for the new season on that. I watch everything from cheesy drama (I'm a long time soap opera viewer and addicted to things like the new 90210) to bad reality TV (Jersey Shore, the Bret Michaels show), but dramedys are my favorite like Weeds and Californication. And I spend a lot of time catching up on older TV to be honest. I'm just started season 5 of the gilmore girls with a girlfriends, and hubby and I are about to start The Wire.

I actually watch almost no television. We don't have cable - so even the ones I DO watch I've got to Hulu! (Can't miss Psych though... even though I'm currently 4 weeks behind!)

It's not really about TV being good or bad - it's that I already spend so much "screen time" on my computer that I can't make myself sit for more of it!

Helen, I love Modern Family!

Lauren, another Raising Hope fan, yay!

Stephanie, you are going to LOVE the Wire. It's my second all-time fave drama (the first is Homicide)

Wendy, I like the Vampire Diaries too, although I wish there was more Damon!

Alyson, I watch Mad Men too--what did you think of the season finale?

T--I couldn't watch tv on my computer at all!! I spend enough time staring at it as it is :-)

I'm all about Damon, too, Elizabeth! And thanks for the Raising Hope suggestion. I watched it last night and was practically snorting. :)

Elizabeth - it's hard to watch tv when I'm so busy reading Something, Maybe (which is soooooooo great!!!!)

But I do love television! Right now my favorite shows are Vampire Diaries, Skins, Cougar Town and repeats of Deadwood and Cadfael (okay and yes, I might also watch anything that involves modeling, singing, dancing and making clothes!!!!!)

I'm OBSESSED with TV, which is probably why I'm slow to comment on this post! Too much TV!

I love: Mad Men, The Office, 30 Rock, Jersey Shore (it's true), Teen Mom... but my favorite lately is BORED TO DEATH. It's filmed all over my neighborhood and I get a huge kick out of that!
