Vacations

Here in Utah, we're starting to get glimpses of spring, and many of us are looking forward to vacations. I feel especially lucky this year because I get to travel quite a bit starting next month.

1. First, we are going to Maui, Hawaii. This is where my husband and I went on our honeymoon many moons ago and we're looking forward to bringing our boys. I'm not sure how things will work out (we're going with my husband's family--8 adults and 7 kids) but I'd love to scuba dive if at all possible. If not, snorkeling is fun too.

2. Then, with summer comes weddings and I have two big ones coming up in June. First, my cousin is getting hitched in Carlsbad, NM. I've never been there and I hear great things about the Carlsbad Caverns. We'll be driving from Denver and stopping in one of my favorite places, Santa Fe, en route.

3. Next, my dad is getting married the very next weekend. The only thing is, they can't decide exactly where (Texoma? Kansas? Texas?), so I'm on hold.

4. Come July, my mom, husband, 3 boys, and I are all heading up to Alaska. I've been lucky enough to go a few times, but my sons and Mom haven't been, so I'm looking forward to showing the beautiful state to them.

5. After a quick trip to Idaho with some friends from Colorado, I'll head to Nashville, Tennessee for the RWA National Conference. I'm really excited because I've never been there.

I haven't organized my book tour quite yet, but since Lifted comes out June 8, I'm sure I'll have some little side trips wedged in there, too. So! Enough about me! Do you have any fun travel plans coming up? If so, we'd love to hear about them. And if not, what are some of your favorite vacation destinations?

Yow-za! that's a lot of travel.

we have a little bit planned, but my hubby gets precious little time off work so that always keeps us more local *sigh*

maybe someday...

I went to Maui with my family last summer and went snorkeling. A green sea turtle came up and started swimming with us. And we were also greeted by a monk seal one morning on Kauai.

This summer, a cruise to Belize and Mayan ruins!

Have fun!

Of the places you mention, I've been to Hawaii, Alaska and Colorado. So I shouldn't be *too* jealous...but I am! *Man*, that's quite a year you've got planned!

Wow, that is a crazy vacation schedule that you've got going on there! My only trip for the year is to go over to Sydney for the RWAust conference where Sara and I are doing a workshop.

However, I'm determined to get to New York next year to see my agent and editor and do some book stuff (hahaha - no idea what that entails but I'm sure I'll figure something out)

Wow, Wendy! Hope you can catch your breath in there somewhere.

I'll be coming to Utah mid-June... if you have any signings while I'm there I'll for sure come cheer for you! AND I'll be in Nashville for Nationals so I'll see you there, too!

Other than that, our only big trip this summer is Acapulco in June/July - But I get to go back to Japan in September!

Ah. I love vacations.

Tess - I hear you about having to work around the hubby's schedule. We'll be leaving my DH behind for a couple of trips, but thankfully summer's not his busiest season.

KrysteyBelle - so cool about the turtle & seal! And Belize? WOW!

Alyson - fingers crossed you make it to Nashville! I'd looooooove to see you again.

Bookaholic - those pix definitely get the salivation going, haha

I swear - yes the boys are coming to all but Nashville. They're psyched.

Lauren - It's definitely more travel that usual but I'll take it! (just have to sell many books so we don't go in the hole, haha)

Amanda - I'd love to see you in NY! I could listen to your darling accent all day long! :)

Monique - I hear you. Growing up we pretty much only visited family. Thankfully some lived close to Disney World!

Gerb - I hope I'll be back in UT mid-June. My dad is still working out the deatails for his June 12th wedding, though. I'm so excited to see you in Nashville! And Acapulco---so cool! You're one of my most well traveled friends for sure!
