Got the box of Violet in Private books yesterday, and today is release day! Woohoo! (You can go here or here or here to try to win copies.)
That means I'm wearing a big, swingy vintage dress that I got from my friend Dixie, who has the most incredible closet of anyone I know and is a true dame in the best sense of the word.
Aw, such a cute dress!! I don't know what I wear on celebratory days....I suppose it depends on what I'm doing. Sometimes I'll dress up and try to look nice (moreso then on a normal day...I'm not very fashion forwards sometimes LOL) and other times it's alllll about the comfort.
OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress. Absolutely fabulous. And lately...I have been covered in sawdust and paint cause I am refurbishing a chair and a dresser for college. So...yea...been a bit grimy and I have nothing to celebrate!
Hey Melissa!! Super cute dress! I don't really get to dress up very often but when I do I have to have everything match & coordinate. I won't wear the outfit unless I get the perfect shoes. I usually already have the perfect jewelery but that's no excuse not to buy more for that particular outfit right!??!? HAHa!!
Congratulations on the release! Loving the dress! :)
For most celebrations (birthdays, weddings, random parties) I just try to look pretty... I LOVE DRESSES! but my outfits usually depend on what I'm celebrating... on the 4th of July I pull out all my red, white, and blue stuff... and on Christmas I do red and green and a Christmas hat... so it just depends on the holiday...
Melissa! How in the world is it possible to be sooo gorgeous? Somehow, you make it work. :D When I celebrate... I get all prettied up with make-up and accessories and the clothes that make me feel the very best, like my brown v-neck tanktop and butterfly jeans.
Well on the celebratory day in which my friends return... I'll be wearing this black and white short dress and leggings... that I would never ever wear, unless someone got my dead mangled body and put it on.
But I was told I looked like Tim Burton's daughter in it and my friend bought it and told me she wouldn't let me in her dorm unless it was on...
My celebration outfit depends on the celebration... I'm so used to being in my choir gown for most things, but oh! When I graduated with my Master's degree in May, I actually dressed all professional-like under my robe. I felt comfortable and ready for the world! (It worked well since it was raining at the picnic afterwards and the other girls got soaked, but my shoes were uber-cute and kept my feet warm!)
You look so cute in your dress, I'm jealous! I need to find more moments to celebrate me! ;-)
celebratory dress for me would be a purple knee length dress. and the reason why it's purple is because i'm feeling in a very purple-y mood. does that even make sense? :D

As for me, celebratory days usually call for a clean pair of socks . . .

A celebration outfit doesn't really pop into my mind, but I love your dress. It looks like you enjoyed your release day. Congratulations!
