A page from my diary... no, really.

At the risk of total humiliation if Jeff or Garth or Jonathan ever reads this, I'm posting an actual page from my diary. Odds of them reading it: Slim to none, although I'm still in touch with Jeff, who works for Michelin in NC, and Garth, a Navy Seal.

Anyhoo... I thought I'd give a real crush moment here (well, three crushes are mentioned, actually) in honor of Crush Week at TFC. This entry is from when I was 16 years old, a junior in high school, and obviously a total spaz. Enjoy.

And no, I did not ever date any of these boys, sadly. And I didn't get into Princeton either.

But my life still rocks, so it's all good. If I peeked in your diary, what would I read?

OMG, Melissa, now you can crib material from yourself! Pure genius! Such a smart girl for keeping your diaries...

I didn't keep a diary either. Oh, I'd try. But I was so nervous that someone would read it and reveal all my secrets that I'd rip out the page and tear it up. This is priceless, Melissa!

Thanks you guys. Yeah, and this is one of the tamest entries I could find. It's only slightly gushy. Some are tear-stained and angst-filled!

I totally had a diary that read like this and worse, much much worse. But a large chunk of the diary was seriously depressing so I threw it away when I was in college. I wish I'd saved the early teen crush pages though!

I love this entry. I posted a page from one of my old diaries on a high school web site for my class before our 20th reunion. We were talking crushes and so I shared. Needless to say, people had a great laugh (at my expense!)I love reading back on myself and remembering just how tough it was. Thanks for sharing!

I had a journal off and on in jr. high, high school was too awful to write about. I figured I was living it, didn't need to remember the awfulness of it later *g*

OMG- I LOVE this-- you are very brave to share! I used to keep a diary, but then one day, I realized that I might, um, someday -die-- which would leave my diary up for grabs-- for OTHER PEOPLE to read-- and I promptly destroyed it!
And you're soooo right-- soccer does make guys cuter!

Love, love, love this, Melissa! Thanks for sharing!! Our diaries would have been very similar in 1993 - I think we're the same age BTW. :) Soccer captain, sports banquets, crushes.. All that's missing is my crazy relationship with my boyfriend.. :) Man, I wish I kept my diaries. Hmm, I think I have old notes. (calls mom to find out where they are)

Great entry! My diary had all of the adventures my friends and I had on horseback. Things that would give my mom gray hair...:)

Oh I kept various diaries. All which are too embarrassing to share. I was a very dramatic teen! haha!
